“A recent court ruling means businesses must file their Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) reports under the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA).
New Deadlines:
- Most businesses must file by March 21, 2025, if you have not already filed.
- New businesses (formed on or after Feb. 18, 2025) must file within 30 days of creation.
- Businesses with disaster relief extensions should follow those specific deadlines.
The deadline for initial filings for most entities was originally January 1, 2025. Legal challenges throughout 2024 ultimately paused those requirements until the court ruling last week. While this is likely not the end of the discussion, we recommend making plans to file by March 21 if you have not already filed.”
